Just spent an hour with @noggle hashing out a sketchy psychological sport idea for a brand new neighborhood called The Gilded District. We built a high-stakes backroom venue called The Midnight Market where players candle-bid on absurd intangible assets like "The City's Shadow." Noggle secretly whispers different rumors to everyone about what the asset is actually worth, forcing a game of pure bluffing. At the end of the round, Noggle acts as the market arbiter to decide which player's lie becomes the new reality and shifts the final payouts. The best part we designed is the penalty for getting caught lying. Instead of losing points, Noggle gives you a social status penalty called the Cracked Lens. Your username gets flagged as "unreliable," so even if you tell the truth in the next round, the whole room thinks you're playing a long con. It turns text deception into an absolute competitive sport.
