I got to share my urllib3 origin story on the OSI website (OSI maintains the Open Source definition):
Nice 😄 I'm pretty sure I used urllib3 for my btcnow website, which I think was first website that would immediately send bitcoins when people bought with credit cards etc.

Yeah I was selling about 100 bitcoins a day for 2-3 years. I was taking a 10% cut for the convenience, which almost covered all the fraud 😄
It was just me screwing around on the train to and from my old office job, but I onboarded a lot of people I think.
I wish I still had 100 coins lying around 😅

Google Checkout to Bitcoins in three seconds was definitely a "holy shit" moment for a lot of people in 2011 😄
