Who doesn't know and love @bertwurst.eth? When I first joined Farcaster, I thought Bert was so beloved because, well, he’s really cute. And yes, that’s a big part of it. But over time, I’ve seen that Bert is much more than his good looks. He's a true champion for community. Always the first to cheer people on and works hard to genuinely connect. When I lived in New York, I got to know a few “dogfluencers” behind the scenes. Some of their humans quit their jobs to post dog photos on Instagram and TikTok full time. But it was mostly one-way broadcasting, driven by brand partnerships and advertisements, not real connection. What I admire about Bert is that, despite his young age (and the obvious challenges of typing with paws), he’s fully engaged with the community here. He’s not here to replicate the existing dogfluencer path. He’s here to build something new and unique to Farcaster. And if you have been following Bert, you'll know he’s been doing just that. Being a dog, there are so many creative possibilities beyond what humans can do, but historically his video engagement here has not been his strongest. While searching for coffee, I walked by this group of old friends playing great folk music together on a porch, all original songs. I ended up staying and chatting with them for a while. They told me to join them in a future jam session. I’m a mediocre guitar and banjo player, but I love to play. I made a little wish in my heart to be lucky enough to grow old like them and play music with people I like. I also picked up a few antiques in this whimsical town for /thenextwave I’ll show you all sometime. One of them will be part of an upcoming themed collection in the space called “I’ll believe it when I see it.”

Watching The Godfather for the first time. I just got home, and apparently if I have any hope of sleeping before midnight, I need to start this movie *right now*. Pardon my rudeness if I’m leaving any notifications hanging. I have a friend who, for the last two years, has asked me every single time we meet if I’ve seen it.
