Had a long convo with a restaurateur. 10+ operations under his belt, one grew to be an 8 fig biz over 25 years. COVID bankrupted him. His right hand man sued him, colleague took his life, lost his house; hell and back. His closing thought was questioning where the will to continue comes from. Said he is convinced entrepreneurs are born, not made. You continue because you know nothing else.

Underrated how we just allow ppl to go bankrupt and are so debtor friendly. Other countries aren’t so chill

a lot of entrepreneurs in my area went bankrupt due to covid too, most of them in B2B manufacturing for more than 4 decades, ranging from bras, cosmetics, to electric motors, all of them said the same thing, never met a crisis like this in their life, made them rethink of their optics regarding what can be sold to consumers a lot of them pivoted to smaller F&B businesses

If we had the privilege to listen to more entrepreneurs, we be scared, motivated, excited, discouraged, all at once. The resilience it needs is out of this world.
