Any kind of inflexible rule. Programming is full of edge cases and exceptions. Sticking to a generalized rule because of “principles” instead of being pragmatic causes a lot of the major issues I’ve seen. The above statement is no exception. Sometimes having an inflexible rule or two is worth the trade off =P
