from a 2021 study, instagram close friends featured demonstrated 61.2% effectiveness in strengthening friendships among adolescents, mostly driven by: 1. seamless integration into stories workflow with clear visual indicator (green circle) 2. power of exclusivity with privacy (no notifs when you're added or removed)
