Oakland

i'm proud to announce Abundant Oakland — a new org I'm helping found to structurally fix the city's biggest challenges.

our goal is to increase Abundance: affordable housing, efficient transportation, quality public education and safe, accessible open spaces — for everyone.

as a 5th generation east bayer, and having lived here for the last decade+, it's clear that the current systems aren't working for anyone.

and we want to make them better: we're planning to spend $1m+ per year to drive long-term shifts for better policy outcomes in Oakland.

i live in Japan now but Oakland has a special place in my heart as the ex President of the Oakland chapter of Black Label bicycle club

the town was always kind to me, in its own, sometimes rough ways  

hoping that what you're doing can help bring new generational wealth Al the way down to the lower bottoms so it's not just the wealth that already exists up in the hills

we used to have a warehouse spot on 16th and Wood across from the old Amtrak station... that neighborhood holds a lot of love in my heart
