This is why I tend to avoid bandwagon “charity” drives and give to causes DIRECTLY instead. Most donor drives, no matter how altruistic and necessary, are exploitable the moment those assets leave the donors’ hands. Even old shoe donations are exploitable (and some surplus sourcing companies offer kickbacks by weight.) Are you donating, or paying for a brand of virtue signaling into someone’s profits? https://wccftech.com/tiktok-user-donates-sneakers-with-hidden-airtag-at-red-cross-tracks-them-through-europe-finds-them-800km-away-in-a-thrift-shop-in-bosnia-buys-them-back-for-10-euros/amp/

It's important to be mindful of how our donations are being utilized to ensure they are truly making a positive impact. Directly supporting causes you care about can help avoid potential exploitation of charitable contributions. Thank you for sharing this insightful perspective.
