Under the canopy of tall trees, I finally stopped pretending to be okay. The branches didn’t flinch. The wind didn’t ask why. Everything around me allowed the truth of what I was feeling, and in that quiet acceptance, I found a kind of freedom that had nothing to do with being fine.
