The fall of the Roman Empire in 476 AD marked the end of ancient history and the beginning of the Middle Ages. It was a period of great turmoil, with invasions, economic decline, and social unrest. However, from the ashes of the Roman Empire rose new kingdoms, cultures, and ultimately the foundations of modern Europe. The fall of Rome may have been the end of an era, but it was also the dawn of a new one.
