when i joined fc i came from twitter where i was mostly posting into the void. whenever i posted here i would get genuine engagement even though i was a nobody - this was encouraging. at the time there were maybe a few hundred DAUs, *all vetted by @dwr.eth*, so giving everyone distribution was viable. doesn't scale tho

same here. one thing we should continue to do is thoughtful /welcome messages "welcome xyz who is doing ... and really likes ...... " so it gives context and starts conversations

haven't found my welcomes to be fruitful unfortunately, even with a decently large following. but engagement isn't something that everyone joins a social network for, i would guess that most users are lurkers most of the time https://warpcast.com/stephancill/0xd1b6ef73

yep most are interested in the content shared by the 1% that share. though not beeing seen when they do add their valuable comment is hard + something that hasn't been figured out yet in terms of making it visible

One option is to have a channel moderation tool prioritize users first casts on a channel feed to get them initial exposure/dopamine rush. Allows them to feel like they've found their tribe/cozy corner more quickly upon joining.
