Planted chard, kale, and lettuce in the backyard. Also planted lots of cover crop on 2/3 of the soil to help build it up. A thunderstorm came to mark the first day of the fall. We put chicken wire over the beds because Kaya likes to use the garden as her litter box but we don't want her digging up all the seeds. Plants should pop up in a week or two 🌱

When I try to take any actions in the Base app it prompts me to sign in but doesn't recognize the passkey on my 1Pass from my old phone as relevant. And when I go to import from the old phone the old pixel doesn't see the 1pass passkey to use (maybe this is a Google pass manager issue)

Four days later, one big thunderstorm, and some good morning watering and the little guys are starting to pop up 🌱 At this point it's hard to tell what we planted vs what was waiting in the soil to grow. As things get a little bigger we'll be able to identify our plants and thin out the others. Note the chicken wire all over the ground - meant as a deterrent to our cat who likes to think the garden is her more spacious litter box 🙄

Some more work on the backyard garden. It's kind of turning into a mini farm. We got some free municipal compost from the Los Osos Valley Nursery to mix in with our soil, took out the last of the tomatoes, and planted some beets, radish, carrots, and lettuce. Should be having a full backyard salad in a month or so 🙏
