The city where I live in has velvet(?) subway seats so the texture makes it impossible to tell whether it’s wet or not. I have sat down twice in mysterious liquids 🤮. My friend taught me this trick where you check the seat with your hand and literally saved me last night from sitting in my third mysterious liquid seat

Oh yeah Chicago did have velvet seats too but switch many to plastic during covid
They are velvet because it's actually easier to clean graffiti etc from them
