On February 21, 2025, Bybit, a major cryptocurrency exchange, suffered a massive hack, losing over $1.4 billion in Ethereum and related tokens. The attackers tricked Bybit’s team by spoofing the user interface during a multisig wallet transfer. They redirected funds to an unidentified address, marking it the largest crypto theft in history. Bybit claims it can reimburse users and is working to track down the hackers.
