The Pentagon has frozen deliveries of anti-aircraft missiles and other precision munitions to Ukraine over concerns that U.S. stockpiles of these weapons are too low. The decision was initiated by U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Elbridge Colby in early June, according to Politico, citing three sources. According to the publication, the freeze specifically concerns missiles for Patriot air defense systems, Hellfire missiles, and other munitions. These arms deliveries had previously been approved for Kyiv by the Biden administration. The Pentagon’s actions have raised concerns in the U.S. Congress. “U.S. air defense systems, including Patriot, are the backbone of Ukraine’s defense… They are working. They are saving lives every day.”

Consuming ammunition supplies on a small state with no strategic depth, unable to defend itself. Sounds like a recipe for disaster.
