Wild how much they differ depending on where you live, it pains me to admit how much I pay, for what I own 🫠 I have an old raised ranch, on just under an acre of land, in a small town in CT and my property taxes are over 6k 🤬

Lmao this state expensive AF to live in, and I’m not anywhere near the fancy parts, but sometimes I think it’s all relative, house prices might be cheaper elsewhere, but I’m guessing wages are lower as well

Yea its shitty system. Your min wage is 1.35 more than mine. But if i drive over the bridge 3 minutes from my house its 4 dollars less. And the property taxes are a quarter of what mine are.

I remember taking my son to town hall to pay property taxes a year or 2 ago and trying to explain things to him since he’s so inquisitive, I said basically you work to make money but you’re taxed on that money, then you buy something but pay taxes on that thing with already taxed money, then you pay taxes to keep that thing, after already paying taxes twice.
