Happy flower Friday, floral Friday, whatever. Blue hydrangeas were my wedding flowers. Always happy to see some blooms in the yard.

This particular plant wasn’t blooming for years and was kinda dying, I trimmed the fuck out of it, and the past 2-3 years it’s had beautiful blue blooms. Glad I didn’t rip it out of the ground 😂

Flowers are so funny like that. Some you have to dramatically prune just so they can get bigger. It's the whole 2 steps forward 1 step back action in real life 😅

Ya dude it’s wild! Same thing happened with my burning bush in front of my shed, it grew a little each year, nothing crazy. But my dad came by one weekend to help me with some yardwork and he hacked the burning bush to hell, and I got pissed because I like it. It’s been 2 years and it’s massive, came back so much bigger and fuller. Live and learn baby!

When I was younger my mom had a butterfly bush and would do the same shit. I was always so confused. But after enough times seeing it happen you see that old growth can get in the way of new growth. Sometimes old things which were important in the past have to be replaced for progress to be made. Applies to life as well
