Good morning. As @spaceman-spiff would say, Iโ€™m visiting the city dimension today for an all-staff meeting. Having these things monthly is some baby back bullshit ๐Ÿ˜‚

gm ryan! for a very large department, you need to have all staff meeting like 2x year - maybe once a quarter, but once a month is far too much (esp. in person).

Itโ€™s so redundant. Itโ€™s like an update on what various units are working on. It could be a newsletter in an email without a doubt

agreed. for my teams and dept. i've always held weekly or biweekly meetings to receive updates and keep them up to date. i have somewhat the same schedule at a sr. management level. my job is to share pertinent information with my dept. without knowing anything about your business, it seems like there might be an opportunity for process improvement..

We have a weekly fiscal meeting to keep the unit updated on anything pertinent thatโ€™s happening or we might be seeing coming down pipelines as accountants, those are short 30 minutes. But this crap where a different unit tells the whole agency about what theyโ€™re working on each month for 2.5 hours sucksssss lol

ok, i see where they're coming from as i've had team building/sharing exercises in the past where we take part of a meeting and a team gives a 15-20 min brief on what they're working on, but wow... 2.5 hours is a lot.

Ya itโ€™s usually announcements and new staff introductions (if any) then whatever unit is presenting that day does their thing, then a break, then they break people out in groups to talk about the presentation or any other issues so we can give feedback to the teams or to management. People get chatty and things take way too long ๐Ÿ˜‚
