Coins are file formats Coins are .jpg and .pdf Pump takes meme.jpg and makes meme.coin How Photoshop uses photo.jpg is up to Adobe How Pump uses meme.coin is up to Pump How @zora uses content.coin is up to @zora Some people hate memecoins. Don't get mad at random data. Getting mad at .coin is like getting mad at .jpg Be mad at Adobe or Pump. Be mad at the apps. But don't get mad at .jpg or .coin, they're just formats.

Not only do they solve needs, but they all use various markets to sell the same product: Trust. Airbnb and Uber and eBay etc sell trust as their core offering through verifications and star ratings and reviews. Without Trust in place adoption is low. Something we’ve yet to figure out in, ahem, “attention markets.”

The app layer is still the app layer. web 1, 2, or 3 the same economic laws apply.

I would love to see this go beyond minting: If these episodes could easily plug into AI then we could see what data is being used and determine top creators/consumers based on novel metrics. Example: Provide transcripts/ai chat/smart clipping tools Then leaderboards like “most quoted” become available.

Farcaster + mini apps + onchain activity ———————————— makes me think of this as a social operating system. https://zora.co/coin/base:0xb573909a56a121501a4e2fc7e9e3e8c15b4c804f?referrer=0x28f8056b6d87f3a92373a9403fbfea1a2da51904

reStyle Mini App • Use a Zora Coin’s image styles • Apply to your own image • User pays in USDC • Backend buys and burns the coin Content Coins as API keys https://restyle-six.vercel.app/ (not fully published yet)

Auth for sure. I’m building a credit system in a database — Send USDC, get in-app credits, spend credits when you use the AI features. There are times where it’s confusing to know if the auth is secure enough to spend the database credits or if I’m leaving it open to attack.

I do! I’ve been using it daily since March 12. It is fantastic. I turn it on in the morning and it captures everything in my day into what they call Lifelogs. You can easily identify speakers, chat with the logs, etc. Good app, good API, and really great hardware.

Limitless pendant https://www.limitless.ai Their app is solid and they have an API with access to the full logs.

In the year 3000 plebs will finally understand the difference between client and protocol, and Farcaster the app will be renamed back to Warpcast, only to anger the remaining 37 users who just got used to calling Frames “mini apps.”

Investing in Creators: Yes to your idea, and Build apps which show how much the data is used. Not just Likes/Views but how many other pieces of content were generated from this exact piece of content. Imagine if Zora locked Content Coins for X years and also emphasized how much the content was used. I’d be happy to invest in creators whose work provably inspires others

It’s so bad it’s great. It’s a Danish knockoff of Godzilla. Hilariously bad, definitely made better by the Mystery Science Theater 3000 commentary if you watch that version.

I think the solution would have to align with my fundamental thesis: The primary purpose of publishing data onchain is to enable more users of that data. The more people who can read/use a database, the more people who can make that data valuable. So what would a solution look like? One which emphasizes the usage of data. The core insight is shifting from: "How can I monetize this content?" to "How can I ensure this content remains useful?" Show more and different metrics. Show how many times data was used. Show how many apps data was used in. Show how much content was generated using the data. Example app: Image generator which shows not just Views and Likes, but emphasizes how many other pieces of content used that data.
