When the status quo fails to deliver what it used to promise, you get a lot of people willing to trust alternatives that are unproven or would have seemed ridiculous previously.

The problem is that there will always be way more bad alternatives than good ones.

Same is true in media. People look at CNN or whoever and go well you clearly lied about this, why don’t I just listen to OANN or read people on Twitter.
