3 kind of interesting things from this, mostly uninformative and didn’t challenge him: 1. 2. On grocery stuff - no real details. Just “1 public grocery store in each borough” thought odd lots would go into more details on pricing mechanism, subsidies. Only real response is saying “the city can guarantee cost savings” which means price controls which means rationing, which means asking for more money to subsidize to keep shelves full. If you want to just give people a food allotment or give people money for food why not just do that?

3. It was funny that he went out of his way to say that he believes in really getting excellent, competent people to work in the public sector. You don’t see leftists talking about personnel very much, it kind of undermines the idea that it’s just the system that needs to change
