AI is great at mimicking style but terrible at originality.
AI can generate a Shakespearean sonnet, a Hemingway-style short story, or a Tarantino-esque screenplay.
AI doesn’t create from a place of vision or need. It doesn’t push boundaries, experiment for the sake of it, or rebel against existing norms. It just remixes what already exists.
True originality isn’t just statistical variation. It’s breaking the mold—often in ways that don’t make sense at first. AI can generate a thousand stories, but it won’t write the next Dune or Watchmen. That still takes a human.
At least for now.
