follower count isn’t everything

you could be 20K followers behind someone and still get more engagement and have a stronger community

focus on your content, what makes you different, the value you can provide, and most importantly -  just be yourself

A large portion of the follower counts of accounts that do have large followings, my account kind of falls into this category even though I don't have a huge following, have followers that have churned and as a result the number doesn't mean much because even if they have 80,000 followers it could be the case of only 2,000 or active. Additionally, the algo really does a good job of rewarding content that does get engagement quickly
