A few of my thoughts on what Dan wrote. In summary. 1. Chain abstraction is an inevitable trend. Most users don’t care what chain an app runs on — just like they don’t care what protocol powers their banking app. The UX needs to feel familiar and simple, with no MetaMask popups, gas fees, or hash addresses.

2. The only exception is financial alignment. If users hold the native token of a chain (like SOL or ETH), they’re incentivized to promote apps built on that chain because it could increase the value of their holdings. This creates “chain tribalism” — and it’s pretty much the only reason someone would care about the underlying chain.

3. Mainstream success comes from UX, not tech. The winners will be the apps that are fun or useful — where crypto is just backend infrastructure. Just like TikTok doesn’t advertise “MP4 video sharing,” crypto apps shouldn’t be selling “an app on Arbitrum.” Bottom line: blockchain identity won’t matter — user experience will.
