This is a response to a reel that came up on my FB feed but has led me down a rabbit hole that will lead to further posts looking at masculinity and purpose.
Men are being sold a lie that being in charge and in control of their partner is a sign that they are leaning into their masculinity. While the result is a man who feels like they have a sense of purpose, it is to the detriment of the women in their life.
In the article I highlight why these views are harmful to the relationship and there is a more healthy model of relationship to move towards. However, there is much to explore in terms of why men who seek a more egalitarian model are still struggling with their sense of purpose.
