While establishing a U.S. Crypto Strategic Reserve might legitimize crypto assets, doesn’t government ownership fundamentally undermine the decentralized ethos that drew us to crypto in the first place?

that's just a bunch of hype. On a related note, for example, peeps don't realize what it truly means to self-custody. It means you have to protect yourself from wrench attacks---that is, someone forces you to transfer crypto w/ a gun held to your head. The immutable nature of blockchains makes this a non-trivial possibility specially as the price of crypto goes up.
