Top right of this chart is what happens when you don't pay your bot mafia protection money

Could also be the effects of a massive drop in new user retention that is bound to happen finally showing up in data Everybody their standard settings are set to follower + recommended only, its opt out Meaning 90% don’t even know the setting exists New users = 90% invisible with no chance to change it

Could be but I checked some other accounts and they are growing consistently... @ds8 has a theory I was on the suggested followers list and have fallen off

I think, Some users are followed by the bots in large amounts, others are simply reaching more real users than they were before imo that were already here If you look at following graphs, for a ton things started slowing down around that update Best indicator for growth is if the SCV per cast is rising But if you think about it logically, there’s no denying new real users must be in short supply New users get ignored by everyone, they don’t even know why -> most leave after feeling invisible, why would they stay, let alone engage to never get the dopamine from even a like? -> as a result most new engagers are bots, annoying even the people who do have the settings set to show everyone -> they eventually give up, and the problem becomes even worse

Yeah I agree with you that's got to be part of it. Dan talks a lot about content driving new users and they're introducing features around that, but doesn't seem to talk about retention and attrition at all 🤷‍♂️

Indeed I truly wonder why, they have to be seeing this in there data unless they're simply not analyzing it at all, which would seem very strange to me that literally no one on the team is like, hey guys, maybe we should take a look at that or actually want a slow down of new users entering?

I dunno. I think supporting mouse clicks, asynchronous audio and video streams would be a killer feature for frames and making interesting content but it's been crickets both times I got their attention to raise it 🤷‍♂️ different priorities I guess

I think that would be great too, but I think they're somehow having trouble with video content Extremely few users have access to even uploading videos and many have asked, I got lucky and got access to it somehow first week in, but every time I post a video many people ask how I do it + they removed animated pfps

Do they have a list of priorities somewhere? Because It seems like they just ignore user requests/complaints about things that we really want for the main client of FC and add a bunch of QoL features that they want themselves as power users or to make things simpler in the backend (like the channels changes). UX doesn't seem to be a priority, nor does making an equitable "priority mode" to help with new/small following user retention.
