some real life, ish for the kids. My closest friend is a high functioning alcoholic. He's very good at his job. Worked his way up one of the largest banks in the world, managing a large wealth management district that spanned from NY to Chicago. Was making $800K a year in salary and then showed up to a Zoom meeting drunk. And then another one. And then a night at the bar with coworkers were he disparaged the company. Today after a 6 month investigation he was let go. Alcoholism is a hell of disease and catches up with most people eventually.

I’m sorry about that. I know what alcoholism is capable of doing to a person, I saw my father’s brother languish and lose absolutely everything he had in life, job, family, house and even almost his own life. After closely following everything, my father decided that he would never drink in his life, not even in a recreational way. It takes a lot of strength and resilience to get out of the bottom of your own well.
