Today, I experienced the quiet magic of receiving a postcard from a loved one. Ever since I moved abroad, my appreciation for cell phones and the internet has grown immensely but there’s a kind of closeness in knowing that someone, miles away, paused their day to sit down, choose their words, and let ink flow from pen to paper—ink that once touched their hand, now resting in mine. No text or call has ever carried such warmth. It stirred a feeling I can’t quite put into words—a tender reminder of how powerful and personal the simplest gestures can be.

A small burger joint in Kolkata encouraged sending postcards. I received one and know this feeling. But the joint vanished, just like postcards did 😶
