Joining the /science trend to teach people new things about science you might know, or might not! Day 1 of sharing fun science facts π³ππ π’ππ ππππ πππππ’ πππππ ππππππ? Archaeologists discovered 3,000-year-old honey in Egyptian tombs that was still edible! Hereβs why: > Low water content: Too dry for bacteria or mold to grow. > High sugar concentration: Preserves by drawing water out of microbes. > Acidic pH: Too acidic for most pathogens to survive. > Hydrogen peroxide: Bees add an enzyme that produces hydrogen peroxide, giving honey antibacterial properties. Basically, honey is natureβs perfect preservative. As long as itβs sealed and dry, it can last forever!
