NEW POST: Devlog №.14 — I'm suspending work on Handshake indefinitely — /beachfront will continue to exist but no new features/releases Decision was made roughly two weeks ago. I was saddened but ultimately feel it's for the best. I enjoyed spending the last four years of my life working to bring awareness, understanding, and excitement to Handshake via posting across Mastodon, Farcaster, Slack, and LinkedIn, and building in public. We have a LOT of silent onlookers who are aware of us and the tech but...they're also aware of how embarrassingly toxic our community is. Despite my endless optimism that *someday* we'll get our act together and move in concert, I gotta admit...it's gotten to me. These past few weeks away from Handshake has felt great. i just read through all this. sorry to hear it's come to this for your handshake projects. whenever i hear these things, i assume investors are getting antsy and starting to apply pressure to change things (╥_╥) but i have to admit, my optimism for what handshake is has diminished a lot since i learned about it so idk

I already got a DM from one of the people in favor of the V2 proposal stating that there's plenty of consensus for the "just burn tokens" proposal, as if that changes anything. Handshake just isn't in a good place for stewardship, community, or adoption. I plan on launching my social network on January 1st so I may get around to launching a fork by next summer. We'll see, I gotta talk to blockchain devs, miners, and so on.
