It takes me 3,4..even 5x more time to write my newsletter than I think it will because I start to dig into so many rabbit holes: the history, the sociology, the tech piece, and on and on. I guess it's both good and bad, but a sticky habit to shake off nonetheless.

I'm starting to think that casting is similar to writing a newsletter post, in the sense that you don't want to write a boring cast. Just like you don't want to write a boring newsletter post. So you need to play with ideas until they resonate and feel "right", in whatever subjective form "right" takes on for you. This takes time, revision, and frustration.
