There's a really cool opportunity to get involved with the Arbitrum DAO. We're running an Onboarding working group to match new contributors with initiatives in the DAO. If this interesting, you can read more details here and join the onboarding calls! https://shorturl.at/lmHTY
GM! Paid delegate programs can buy time, context, and a visible record of governance work. What they do not automatically create is representation: a constituency, real decision rights, or influence that survives the funding. Before committing to a role, I think the useful question is: if it ended in six months, what would still be yours? A public body of work? Trusted relationships? Specialist expertise? A credible mandate? Or mainly a title and a stipend? I wrote a DAO Work decision brief that separates paid participation, formal voting influence, informal influence, and durable leverage—plus a practical role screen for evaluating a delegate program before you commit. https://paragraph.com/@sharingiscaring/should-you-build-your-dao-role-around-a-delegate-program-or-1
I'm starting to think that casting is similar to writing a newsletter post, in the sense that you don't want to write a boring cast. Just like you don't want to write a boring newsletter post. So you need to play with ideas until they resonate and feel "right", in whatever subjective form "right" takes on for you. This takes time, revision, and frustration.
