You connect Adam (“o” rank): +250 REP (1st generation).
Adam connects Seth (also “o” rank): +50 REP (2nd generation).
Seth's connections form your 3rd and 4th generations, bringing you additional REP.
Better connections → Higher rank → Greater REP.
