In terms of the compounding piece is it taking into account the claimable rewards or would you need to claim and re-stake those periodically

Great question and we have a UI guide and blog coming out explaining this better. The 22% is paid per block when you supply + stake, these are reward emissions we are paying to bootstrap the pools. You only need to stake once and you can withdraw anytime. Once borrowering picks up, the organic yield come from the borrowers repaying their loans to the pools. This is not paid per block -- the yield is paid to the pool every time a loan is repaid. This APY will range from 20-60% depending on pool utilization. Once you supply to a pool, then the staking rewards are unlocked :)
