Just saw some of the videos from FSU where there was a mass shooting a couple hours ago. This was my biggest fear teaching full time at my university. 

After the Parkland shooting they started mandatory active shooter training which is pretty pointless tbh. It comes down to hide or flee and depends on many different factors. Every classroom I taught in I would think about my exit strategy. I even discussed this in my law class from a biz owner perspective & security. The classrooms I’ve taught in during the past 5 years are death traps — no real way out. 2 of the 4 have closets so those are the rooms I request now. 

Yes I’ve thought about this often because I’ve assumed for most of my years there (since 2013) that it would happen eventually. I’m sorry to see those at FSU having that reality again today—so sad and pointless. 

No info on the shooters yet (appears to be 2 or 3) but likely the usual suspects.
