ELON: NEURALINK COULD REACH A MEGABIT PER SECOND IN COMING YEARS

In the years to come, it's going to be gigantic because we'll increase the number of electrodes dramatically and improve the signal processing. 

Even with only roughly 10 to 15 percent of the electrodes working with Nolan, our first patient, we were able to achieve a bits-per-second rate that's twice the world record.

I think we'll start vastly exceeding the world record by orders of magnitude in the years to come.

For example, getting to 100 bits per second or 1,000.

Maybe, five years from now, we might even reach a megabit—faster than any human could possibly communicate by typing or speaking.”
