The Namib Desert is the oldest desert in the world. The Namib has existed for 55 to 80 million years, older than the Sahara. Although not the largest, the Namib is notable for its red-orange sand dunes, some as high as 383m like Dune 7 - one of the highest sand dunes on the planet.
