Why Me?
The hardest part is not the work I’ve done,
But the silence when the battles aren’t won.
When results don't show, it feels like I failed,
Like every effort I made has been derailed.
I’ve poured my soul, my time, my fight,
Pushed through darkness searching for light.
Yet those who’ve done a fraction, or less,
Now offer advice, with pride no less.
I’ve trained hands that now shape gold,
Watched them rise, bold and bold.
They shine so bright, ahead of me
And deep inside, I ask, why me?
Is there shame in slow success?
Or in wounds that heal through stress?
Because I’ve given, and I’ve sown,
Yet it feels I reap alone.
But still I rise, through doubt and pain,
Hoping my losses weren’t in vain.
One day these tears will tell my story
A path of scars that led to glory.
