🇺🇸 Governor Katie Hobbs vetoed the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve bill after it passed both the House and Senate, citing Bitcoin as an “unproven investment.” However, this reason may be just an excuse, because Ms. Hobbs has previously pledged to veto any bill until the budget issue for supporting people with disabilities is resolved. A related bill that would allow the state treasurer to allocate up to 10% of Arizona's reserve fund to digital assets like Bitcoin is also under consideration in committee, but has yet to be formally approved.
