🐧 pingopond and fcfs mode. we’re interested in a new campaign format that will probably be available as an option in the future. it’s a gamified way to run content contests with a social element. in short: 1. we set the prize pool, for example 100 apt. 2. the number of winners isn’t known in advance, but we limit the number of participants — say, to 100 creators. 3. once the limit is reached, the campaign closes automatically and we start moderation. 4. we remove entries that don’t meet the requirements, and the total number of eligible participants goes down — so the prize per winner goes up. 5. for example, if 50 out of 100 participants are disqualified, the prize for each approved winner increases from 1 apt to 2 apt. 🧵 1/2

this is an interesting model, but it also has a downside. i mentioned its social nature, but the community isn’t always positive. i expect there will be clever users who, after submitting high-quality content, will use new accounts to send in low-quality work, guaranteeing allocation for their main entry and increasing its payout. on the other hand, it’s a fascinating social experiment that could reveal new sides to a community and create fresh incentives. what do you think? 🧵 2/2
