I'm not advocating anyone to have this experience at all but in a way I'm actually grateful I had such an intense experience working in tradfi starting off my career since it made me really appreciate how great tech culture can be e.g. had to be in office each day 9am-11pm way underpaid for hours, manager would regularly call me stupid if I couldn't solve a PhD level math problem he tested me on, among many other things. So when I went to Coinbase directly from this culture, it was surreal they actually cared about people and I felt like a rescued puppy

As a kid, I dreamed of being an archaeologist. History fascinated me (still does). Digging up jungle temples and tombs sounded thrilling. At 13, I devoured Greek and Roman history books and chatted with my history teacher about it. Basically, I was obsessed.
