i owe @limone.eth an apology: he explained that he onboarded the wallet so they could use Farville and I jumped to extreme conclusions without investigating fully.

there is a lot about this ecosystem i dislike, i am planning on sunsetting my time spent on it and focusing only on vibe code bootcamp going forward.

hey not following the whole thread here, but it seems like you are grieving the fact that someone launched a token with your project's name and likeness. the fact that literally anyone can do that means someone probably will and also that more likely than not such a token won't receive any significant trading volume and the token creator won't benefit. sure, they might score a marginal amount in fees if traders speculate that the token is legit. when it becomes evident it's not, the traders leave.

I guess I'm so used to it (and marginally burnt out right now) that I have a difficult time empathizing fully, but I respect that you are feeling genuine valid emotions about it. 

one positive of project tokens is that they can drive interest to a project more readily. I think someone with just a few followers here would not have much difficulty promoting a good product by launching a token, since traders are always hungry for something new and undiscovered. 

but also, since the dawn of the internet, haven't people having been impersonating others online? 

and if you (obviously very validly!) choose not to launch a token, someone might launch a memecoin because they think that your product is that cool that it could sustain attention to such a token. if a fan launches a web2 fansite for anything and runs ads on the site (profits from it), nothing goes back to the original creator.

my issue isn’t this case it’s that happens with every single app that gets popular and often they also make fc and twitter accounts and etc — i hear what you’re saying that this is a feature of the ecosystem, that’s exactly why i’m going to stop building for it
