From watching my own kids, there are 2 problems with this theory: 1. Kids under 16 HATES crypto. They see their favorite YouTubers turn into crypto scammers and are turned off at a young age 2. Kids don’t want to OWN this stuff. They might want to make money off it (my 14 yo sure would) but that requires someone else wanting to own it and I’m not convinced there’s a market for that. And as an additional point: items in Fortnite and Roblox are not rare usually

I think currently that is true. but I don’t think the NFTs of the future will be so explicitly “crypto”. think something like swoosh.nike or some of the newer web3 games like Tokyo Beast most of the revenue from Roblox and Fortnite comes from Robux and V-Bucks and is used to purchase cosmetic items. I have a strong feeling that kids growing up in these ecosystems will likely grok the benefits of fungible tokens and NFTs better than anyone in our generation ever did. when the social stigma wears off and the narrative changes I think we’ll see them adopt these technologies without even knowing it
