Some sad news. My M1 macbook that I converted to Linux runs considerably slower than when it was running macOS. Maybe this is expected, but it is a shame.

this is a bummer. I've not tried asahi, does it limit you to precompiled arm64 binaries? does it have an x86 translation layer? im curious why it would feel so much slower. most macs, especially older Intel airs, get new life with linux. have you checked page size configuration? RAM? I want this to work so badly

I think maybe it’s Plasma KDE? Not sure. I’ll dig into it more for sure. Still configuring things
