wtf is going on? Makes me wonder how well thought out this whole product launch is…. Robinhood seems to have lost the plot a little bit I guess

I think Robinhood holds the shares in trust. You take on additional counter party risk “buying” open ai through RH. The tokenized shares are just a promise that you might have a hard time collecting on in the even the company fails. AFAIK RH is more sound and trustworthy than a random company doing this but it’s not the same as the real thing yet.

yeah I used to work for a company called tZERO that wanted to have this tech as a way to prevent naked short selling, but they never had the real thing and still don’t. soooo I knew from the jump that Robinhood was just making a Frankenstein of multiple financial instruments and not implementing true tokenization lol.
