President Trump just fired two board members at the National Credit Union Administration in his latest attack on consumers. Yet another attempt by Trump to skirt the rule of law, undermine independent agencies, and illegally purge the government of those working for Americans.

Why is there even a National Credit Union Administration? We should ask such a basic question about every federal agency which does not have a purpose directly attributable to a specific constitutional power of the federal government.
