Kika’s creative spark was lit by old-school film noir and Hollywood musicals—her early companions that later evolved into something more: an urge to make, not just watch. University life exposed her to the craft, but it wasn’t until she could work independently—with a handheld camera and her own laptop—that she truly began experimenting. No crews, no big budgets—just raw ideas and DIY freedom.

Before fully embracing video art, Kika cut her teeth as an assistant director on a major feature film—a four-year process that taught her a lot, but also showed her what she didn’t want. She wasn’t drawn to the business of cinema; she was chasing something more intuitive, more immediate. So she tossed the playbook and dove into her own world.

Since then, Kika’s work has traveled across the globe, landing in major art institutions like the KW Institute (Berlin), Villa Empain (Brussels), the Museum of Image and Sound (São Paulo), and MoMA Buenos Aires. Her videos have been awarded and screened in over 30 countries. She’s also curated for top festivals and galleries from Iceland to Hong Kong, building bridges between moving images and new digital worlds.

Most recently, she’s stepped into the world of Web3—curating, collecting, and minting NFTs since 2022.
