It’s a bit of a theory becoming a book. 2 parts so far laying groundwork on key terms, next will go into how it all fits together to show maybe a more mathematically robust view of intelligence, evolution and consciousness.

Yes, in many ways I feel like this is a modern version of GEB, but expands to take on some relatively new concepts like context windows and how recursion and causality happen across scales. Lots of other theories to pull in, including Free Energy, but I think this says a bit more about this not just as a theory of consciousness but of systems evolution across scales.

I'm fascinated by the role of constraints in emergence, if only because it seems as if they might be inversely related. And similarly, my colleagues and I (Unnamed Labs) are drawn to homoiconicity at a higher level than the typical association with programming languages.

This is fascinating. Did you read my piece on constraints? I think Causal Emergence is a natural place to explore. If I understand you correctly you are saying emergent properties flourish in high constraint environments? If so, I'd say, definitively yes, it's a prerequisite, but gotta define some terms.
