Most healthcare systems have their flaws, but I still prefer the Indian healthcare system. You don’t have to wait weeks for an appointment, and the costs are clear and upfront—no hidden fees or surprise bills months later. When I gave birth in the U.S., I was still dealing with the hospital bill 9–10 months after my baby was born. They initially charged me $80,000 for a four-day hospital stay. And this was with a “good” insurance plan and high premiums. After countless hours on the phone with the hospital billing department and my insurance provider, they finally admitted it was fully covered 😤 That time and energy should have gone toward bonding with my newborn—not dealing with the bills. Sometimes, the U.S. healthcare system honestly feels like a scam.

Oh wow my wife about to give birth in 3-4 months, we still have not received any bill at all and that is terrifying. If comfortable would you mind sharing how you got the 80k bill and how much you negotiated it down to? Thanks!
